What does "Reveal and Discard the top 3 cards of your Main Deck" mean?
It means to show your Rival the top 3 cards of your Main Deck and then place them into your Discard Area face-up.

Yes, they are. Once they have had a chance to look at the revealed card, it returns to its original position.
